Head of the performance analysis team within Network Rail. This role gives me the opportunity to mix analysis, team management whilst providing industry leadership on punctuality data. During my time in Network Rail I have been responsible for the development of two long term industry performance plans. Within this I helped introduced PPRP developing an attrition approach to performance modelling - showing the importance of seasonality, systemic issues, control, extreme weather and incidents on performance. I currently am introducing new data sources (GPS) and technology (tableau) into the analysis toolkit and am one of the driving forces behind the cross industry analysis community. I managed the Capability Analysis Team responsible for Railsys simulation modelling of new infrastructure and timetables. Previously co-managed the consultancy team within DeltaRail (formerly AEA Technology). Founded and grew a team of 10 consultants purely focussed on train performance analysis. Heavy involvement in franchise bids for many different operators; forecasting and review work for both the DfT and the ORR; national and local recalibrations of the Schedule 8 performance regime; independent reporting and trend analysis for TOCs; audits and training for performance staff; and the innovation of ACTRAFF using TRUST and CCF data to map actual train movements. This to my knowledge has been the only arm in any consultancy business to establish and maintain a team of this size purely focussed on this important aspect of the rail industry. Many of the team are now spread across the industry.Specialties: data analysis, train performance, schedule 8 performance regime, forecast modelling, team motivation, logical reasoning, task focus management and data visualisation....
