Working as part of a manufacturing plant producing Titanium dioxide (TiO2) I am working closely with a team comprising of a Mechanical Specialist, Area Process Specialist and Chemical Engineer. My current role is varied within a Top Tier COMAH site operating on a 24/7 continual basis. My Cristal Experience is as below,• As a Maintenance Engineer I am responsible for all maintenance and engineering activity in theBase Production Plant.• Compilation and authorisation of maintenance method statements and risk assessments, prior toactivities. This also involves review and approval of contractor risk assessments/method statements for areas of responsibility.• Monitoring of equipment performance and implement improvements to ensure corrective actionsare completed.• Creation of Change Orders where “Management Of Change” is required, in order to maintain a“Safe” Working environment.• Compilations of engineering reports, ensuring learning’s are communicated across the site.• Provide engineering support to reliability driven projects within my area of responsibility.• Writing and providing relevant documentation, including business cases for Capital expenditurefor long term Plant upgrades.During my time at Cristal I have additionally managed a multi disciplined team comprising of Mechanical, Electrical and Production Engineers creating day to day solutions in order to run the plant to its optimum performance safely along with the long term vision and responsibilities of the sites long term plan. Following 8 months managin the engineering team I then went onto manage for 9 months a team of 30+ Mechanical Craftsman. I was responsible for all Mechanical Scheduled and Reactive Maintenance Execution on site. This being a hands on role within the core of production i not only lead the man power but and heavily involved with the engineering solutions my team were implementing via Management of Change every day.

During that acquisition we became a sister company of Durst who are based in the US. Durst are a leading gearbox manufacture who produces Pump Drives, Transfer Cases and Rail axle gearboxes. Being the only Mechanical engineer my job has comprised of:-• Maintenance consultant for our team based on site. Maintenance cover on all major breakdowns.• Identified a large organic growth opportunity with the rail axle assembly for the European market – Project managed – Applications engineering – Manufacturing Engineering – and training to all staff working on the project was provided from me. Successfully delivering our first unit 3 weeks early under budget.• Successfully project managed the implementation of a hydraulic Pump Drive manufacturing facility within Europe.• Project managing the implementation of Rail Axle Gearbox Assembly into Europe from Durst• Providing Mechanical gearbox technical solutions for Ad Hoc requests for all three product lines across Europe.• Learning and training all RML staff including Maintenance, sales, production and the quality department on all 3 product lines meeting the high expectations of customers.• Highly involved in the business management and Installation an Opperman Mastergear mechanical production line manufacturing bevel gearboxes for the Oil and gas industry successfully.

Duties and responsibilities include:-• Responding to regular ad hoc request for technical information• I have developed strong working relationships with our existing customer base to provide technical support, advice and guidance on all customer needs.• Actively research and developed new products within the HVAC and refrigeration industry.• General support for the maintenance team• General support to the production management assisting with duties on a day to day basis that have arisen. • Managed teams in kaizen events to assist with the production processes and products to improve the Product, Profit and the carbon footprint of the facility

• Completed an advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Maintenance• Worked, Managed and set up routine maintenance schedule’s ensuring all work has been completed accurately and on time so production down time was to a minimum.• Worked effectively and efficiently fault finding on machinery for electrical and mechanical issues. Having a factory setup with a vast range of equipment new and old, mechanical and electrical I have been fortunate maintain and fault find on a diverse range of equipment including CNC’s.• I have completed an advance modern apprenticeship in engineering in this organisation working alongside two other people to keep the plant running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Building and Re-building tooling working to small tolerances and succeeding. • Managed Contractors which included the design and management of a full re-wire of 50% of our facilities in order to bring the factory into current regulations. Good understanding of electrical installation and maintenance.• Installed air systems for the installation and relocation during Kaizen events.• Managed Kaizen events to improve productivity and reduce costs. This included chemical process change which reduced gas consumption by 2/3’s and reduced the process time down one of our busiest lines.
