Responsibilities include:• forecasting the quantities of promotional items required for 50 stores in the Leinster region including weekly promotional offers and seasonal promotions• managing weekly promotional items - determining optimum initial and top-up allocations of stock amongst the stores in the region in order to ensure maximum sales and minimum write offs• reforecasting weekly meat and poultry offers based on sales data and trends• analysing and adjusting store orders of short life products in order to prevent write offs and maximise sales• training and developing new staff and international trainees• maintaining databases for analysis and liaising with auditors• developing new methods and procedures in order to enhance our operational efficiency• reporting to company executives on a daily basis• determining type and quantity of replacement products for fruit & veg items• managing stock levels of promotional ambient and fresh stock, in store and in the warehouse • determining optimum allocations of high profile advertised promotions and managing the promotions until their conclusion• organising transfers between stores and the warehouse based on stock levels and future promotions• liaising with warehouse managers to ensure stock gets picked when necessary• conducting chiller and warehouse walks to check the best before dates, quantity and quality of products

PhD Title: Short-Term Traffic Condition Variables Forecasting using Artificial Neural NetworksMy PhD thesis contains a comprehensive review of the literature related to my work. It also includes chapters on various different models I created. These include an autocorrelation based traffic flow prediction model, a weather adaptive traffic condition forecasting algorithm, and a novel regime-adjusted multivariate short-term traffic prediction methodology. These algorithms were designed using neural networks and support vector machines. I have presented different parts of my work at conferences in Dublin, Cork and London. I also presented my work as part of a trip where I was invited to work on research on the effect of weather on traffic demand in collaboration with AIT in Vienna for 2 weeks.During this PhD, there was a requirement to obtain 15 ECTS credits, alongside the work in the PhD. To obtain these credits, I took 3 Civil Engineering MSc exams worth 5 ECTS credits each: Advanced Transportation Analysis, Transport Modelling and Renewable Energy. I achieved over 70% in each of these exams and thus got all the credits I required.
