Skills4 works with health departments, community based organizations, and clinics to help improve local health outcomes. Through my consultancy, I have worked with dedicated professionals in settings ranging from small grass roots agencies to multi-national corporations. I’ve facilitated community health forums, and completed projects that launch and evaluate new programs, design targeted messages, develop boards, and build infrastructure for a sustained community presence in 42 states. Locally, in 2008, I co-founded and continue to direct Latinos Salud, a non-profit HIV-prevention, testing, and linkage agency in South Florida, serving Latinos at-risk of and living with HIV. This amazing group of talented professionals (www.latinossalud.org ) is passionate and highly skilled in supporting clients, whether coaching people to live healthier with HIV or helping clients to stay HIV negative.My research has appeared in The Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, AIDS and Behavior, The Journal of Urban Health, Public Health Reports, and in community publications such as Positively Aware magazine. Previously, I directed HRSA’s national hub for technical assistance to the Ryan White community (the TARGET Center). Skills4 has won tens of millions of dollars to launch, improve, or sustain prevention and support programs, primarily in disproportionately impacted minority and LGBT communities.
