Promoted to oversee and develop products in home cinema, spending two weeks each month in the UK and two weeks at Head Office on technical development in California, USA.Remit included:- Strategic Planning and road mapping of the worldwide product portfolio.- Development of the cinema and consumer based hardware and software solutions.- Liaison between sales teams, dealers, end users and R&D for product development and enhancements.- Management of OEM relationships for design and manufacture of high end audio amplifiers.- Identifying OEM opportunities and strategic partnerships.- Product and installation support and training for dealers and end users.- Trade shows and technical sales.Achievements included: - Launch of $25k 16 Channel digital audio processor (RS20i) for the very high end consumer market.- Launch of a range of world class amplifiers to support the processor (RA7300 & RS2400).- Identification of a top quality OEM in the USA to manufacture these units.

Promoted into role to focus on DTS’s expansion into the Digital Cinema market.- Project managed, with European software team, the development of the Theater Management System (TMS), a software solution for the movement and playback of DCPs at local and regional level.- Project managed, with US team, the development of the DC20 Digital Cinema server, a DCI hardware solution to playback motion picture content within cinemas.- Project lead for DTS on four year €9m European funded project 2020 3D. It aimed to explore and develop novel technologies for the acquisition, coding, networked distribution and display of stereophonic and immersive audio-visual content. - Project lead for DTS on three year €5.5m European funded project, iMP, to create architecture, workflow and applications for intelligent, metadata driven processing and distribution of digital movies and entertainment.

Initial role in supporting product development and technical support.

Appointed to set up a new department within Europe to provide corporate oversight and run AV, Film and Technology interests, with extensive global travel as required.Remit included:- Strategic planning and road mapping of European technical requirements, having set and received agreement for corporate policy for all AV installations, screening theatres, SMATV TV distribution systems and video conferencing systems.- Liaised with Disney’s other key lines of business (LOB’s) on their technical requirements namely The Disney Channels, BVI, BVHE, ABC News, ESPN, Fox Kids and Parks & Resorts.- Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the annual technical plan.- Involved in most aspects of Disney’s European technical portfolio. This included Audio Visual, Broadcast, Digital Cinema, DVD mastering and replication, TV over IP and Film Media.Pioneering projects managed included:- TV over IP (IPTV). Found a solution to allow all Disney LOBs to share broadcast media within the European workspace. It became the world’s first large scale IPTV solution after two years work with designers and systems engineers. Allowed over 200 broadcast quality TV and Audio channels to be streamed via IP to users’ desktops globally.- The Disney Digital Cinema Program. Project Manager for the European and Far East roll out in 2000 of this ground breaking technology for the big screen. Key member of the US led global task force.

Small company specialising in high quality film projection and sound equipment.- Responsible for planning, installation and servicing of cinema sound and projection equipment and for special events, film production and post production. - Administered all IT equipment within Bell.- Worked as a Sound and Projection Consultant with United International Pictures, Disney, Fox, Paramount and other leading film distributors for premieres, special screenings and film festivals globally.- Seconded to Iwerks Entertainment for three months for a major installation in the Luxor Hotel, Las Vegas, the Zion Canyon Cinemax Theater in Utah (two months) and other installations in Spain, Holland, Italy and Ireland.
