I am passionate about helping young people to develop their potential through sport and work based learningHaving been an apprentice with Rolls Royce, gaining so much from the experience, I believe that so many more young people could benefit from such an experience.I have experienced work based learning as a student, as a lecturer delivering it, as a manager in colleges and latterly in the development of its policy. I now simply want to help as many young people as possible to start their journey into a career.I am an advocate of the Expansive model of apprenticeship (as documented by Fuller and Unwin) and am keen to work with anyone who wishes to deliver such a model. Having played cricket for most of my life I believe that the skills and teamwork required can help young people develop physically, mentally and socially. An enthusiastic player of limited ability, I now hope to use my skills to help young people learn and enjoy the game.Following an expansion in the ground our cricket club plays on I have become involved in the land management and the sustainability of cricket clubs and how we can minimise our carbon footprint.
