At the LinQuest Corporation, I played a key role in the Air Force’s initiative to update their promotion exams from a paper system to an electronic one. In this position, I utilized the R language to develop and optimize scripts for simulating necessary data that would have been otherwise infeasible to acquire. I also conducted analysis and provided valuable insight on the data. I worked with my team to implement my findings into the workflow, and I attended weekly meetings to provide updates to my supervisors and fellow team members. In the instances where my team members required clarification regarding my scripts, I provided them with explanations for each part of the script so that they could work with and update it in an effective manner. To present my findings and provide recommendations to the client, I wrote a technical report that explained the analysis in a way that those from varying backgrounds could understand.

As a teaching assistant, I served the University as a mathematics tutor and analyzed student comprehension by grading papers. In my role as a tutor, I helped dozens of students, both my peers and underclassmen, in understanding mathematical concepts and walked them through solving problems together. I was able to effectively manage my time and multitask by tutoring several students at a time, rotating between answering questions and working on different problems together. I also graded papers for several professors, including differential equations. In my role, I analyzed student comprehension and effectively communicated where a misstep occurred and how to arrive at the correct answer. I managed a full courseload in school as well as committed to a workload of 14 hours per week. I consistently showed up early for my shifts in order to organize myself before tutoring and I also stayed late to help students succeed. As a teaching assistant I was responsible for communicating with the department secretary for reserving tutoring rooms and frequently communicated the location with dozens of students. In this position, I managed myself and turned in weekly status reports of my hours worked.
