The home remodeling business is in Stephen Gordon’s DNA. His Grandfather started out as a country boy delivering milk to the White House and went on to develop much of what is now Chevy Chase/D.C. Watching him and his father build homes is what captured his imagination and sparked a life-long love of the business. During college, his summers were spent learning each facet of the remodeling industry by working under subcontractors in their special line of expertise. He worked for one of the area’s most reputable builders and renovators before striking out on his own renovating homes in Northwest D.C., Bethesda and Chevy Chase. His business now extends throughout the greater Washington Metropolitan area. His work surrounds him. He can walk to many of his renovations and drive to the rest in a few minutes. Often, his clients are friends and neighbors; however, at the end of a project, he considers all clients to be his friends. Some call him months after a project is complete with questions or concerns, and some even leave him their keys when they go on vacation. His relationships are built on trust. He also believes it’s important to maintain close ties in the community which is why he has served on the board of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Landon School, Columbia Country Club, and Christmas in April; additionally, he has coached BCC baseball, MSI soccer and MYLA lacrosse. Someone once said that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. That’s been true for Stephen Gordon for almost three decades.
