I am a recent Biology graduate from the university of Sussex and am now looking to start my career within scientific industry. During my degree I have had experience working in Sussex's Genome damage and stability lab, where I worked on my own project in which I looked at the affect that protein Top 3 has on Spo11 to see how and if Top3 was dependent on Spo11 activities. During this project I modified yeast genomes and used Single Nucleotide Modifications to do this. This exposure to lab work was something that I enjoyed and gave me a good taste to what working within the scientific scene could involve. I also have over 6 years working within the retail sector part time during my studies. This has given me a diverse set of skills including teamwork, customer service skills, leadership skills and time management, which was something I had to get to deal with during my university studies and part time work.I have started working as a manufacturing technician for Biocheck, a veterinary diagnostic company. Here I have been exposed to valuable lab experience, working in a fast pace environment and developing my lab based skills. I am looking forward to continue developing not only my lab practices but also the leadership and team works skills which have become vital in my working day.
