Attached to the 3rd Regiment Army Air Corp (3AAC), with a large variety of equipment to maintain, the Regiments main asset is the Boeing Attack Helicopter-64 Apache.My Primary Role is to service and repair the AH M230E1 30mm Cannon. In a fast paced but strict to regulation aeronautical working environment I feel I have gained far more experience in policy and procedures as well as to deliver serviceable equipment to deadlines.

Tidworth, Wiltshire

On completion of my trade training I was posted to a frontline armoured infantry regiment 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (1RRF). 1RRF had a large variety of equipment, but main asset was the Warrior Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle. As an Armourer in trade, my responsibilities were to inspect, maintain and repair the Main Armament 30mm RARDEN Cannon, Coaxial L94A1 Chain-gun and the Turret control systems; this included the electro-mechanical aspects of the turret, electrics fault finding, routing electrical cables to control boxes and servicing/repairing the traverse gearbox and clutch as well as inspections.I served with 1RRF for 3 years gaining valuable engineering experience and a promotion to Lance Corporal then gave me leadership experience as a Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO).

Bordon, Hampshire

On completion of Basic Training, I was posted to the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SEME) Phase 2 training establishment; Initially focusing on educational subjects such as English, Maths, Science and Material Properties. Training then progressed basic engineering practices learned in Bench fitting. The primary focus in Phase 2 training (SEME) was to learn my specific Trade as part of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). I completed an approximately 30 week long trade course to become an Armourer. The course involved the instruction on how to correctly; Service, Inspect, Maintain and Repair a variety of weapon systems ranging from small arms to large armoured vehicle mounted weapon systems and turret control systems.

Joined the British Army, September 2011 and completed Basic training, learning basic soldiering skills to progress later in my career.
