I’m a Managing Director with KPMG US, supporting the Defense Advisory practice. I have over 35 years of Defense financial management experience. I was formerly a career Department of the Air Force civilian and member of the Senior Executive Service and recently retired from the position of Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Financial Management and Comptroller, Department of the Air Force. I was responsible for overseeing the budgeting, cost estimating and financial operations of more than $193 billion in annual resources supporting Department of the Air Force priorities in accordance with Congressional, Secretary of Defense, and Secretary of the Air Force direction. I was also responsible for the professional development of more than 13,000 military and civilian members of the Air Force financial management community.Prior to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary position, I was the Deputy for Budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, Department of the Air Force. I was responsible for planning and directing budget formulation and execution activities for all Air Force and Space Force appropriations. I led a staff of civilian and military financial managers who develop, defend and execute funding that supports worldwide military operations and Department of the Air Force priorities.Outside of Defense Financial Management, I have held executive level positions as the Deputy Director of Staff, Headquarters United States Air Force and as the Executive Director, Air Force Special Operations Command.I am a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers and hold a position on the National Executive Committee. I am also a member of the Air Force Association and the Air Commando Association. I earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master's of Science in Management from Troy University, completed Air War College through Air University and am a Senior Fellow with the Council for Excellence in Government. I am a Certified Defense Financial Manager (Acquisition).
