To lead and provide high quality operational and technical application and systems support to Life Insurance Solutions Centre of Excellence (LISCoE) customers and internal business and IT functions. • Fast and effective resolution of problems• Take ownership of all production related problems• Monitor information systems• Review system logs on a daily basis to highlight current problems and recurring problems• Web site deployments and administration using tomcat and apache• Communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the company• Manage bugs and allocate accordingly• Resolve, record and track all hardware and software problems encountered on a daily basis on the orbit platform• Ensure communication lines are kept open between IT and Business by playing a proactive, primary interface role• Interacts with 3rd party vendors, users and developers to pro actively highlight recurring error conditions• Identify and analyse critical areas of concern and report to Head of Operational Support on a regular basis• Release management• Document all necessary changes during a release.• Put ad hoc fixes into production as and when required with minimal impact on stability.• Change control.• Proactively monitor the servers and business processes to highlight possible problems.• Write your own monitoring software as and when needed.• Inform the necessary parties when monitoring programs report on errors.• Writing of SQL scripts and queries.• Development of staffware processes on Tibco iProcess.

• Research, analyse, document and recommend system solutions for the end users’ business requirements.• Provide second line support to end users and assist in day-to-day problem resolutions.• Assist with preparing mandates, project proposals and action plans for all incidents, work requests being dealt with.• Provide support to projects managers/ managers during development of new/changed systems to assist in the preparation of project related documentation (i.e. Business Specifications, action plans, test plans and implementation plans)• Preparation of work requests and incidents.• Undertake system testing and user acceptance testing.• Compile test data and expected end results.• Assist with the Compilation of user manuals for training purposes.• Assist and co-ordinate the implementation of new/changed systems and undertake post implementation evaluations.• Acquire detailed knowledge of new systems implemented in order to provide an efficient maintenance and support function.
