I believe passion to be the most important aspect of being a teacher. The reason that I chose science as my teaching specialty is because I feel that it is one of the most beneficial and important subjects for giving students a way to truly affect and change the future of our world. It is also one of the most neglected subjects. As a teacher I want to inspire the passion I possess for science and pass that excitement to them. Another key aspect of teaching that is often overlooked is curiosity. Science is all about trying to understand the world around us and arousing that curiosity for discovery inside ourselves. Not only is this curiosity important for science but it is the key for any pursuit in life. I am always seeking to learn new things and as a teacher, inspiring my students to not only learn material, but to nurture that desire in us all to take the journey from curiosity to discovery that will always lead us to improvement and discovery. As for teaching itself, I find great enjoyment in passing along new knowledge to others. I especially take pleasure in navigating through different types of learners and discovering new and innovative ways to make learning and understanding easier each individual I encounter. Learning to adapt teaching techniques both to each of your students as well as ways to all of your class is one of the greatest challenges a teacher faces and I greatly look forward to rising to this challenge.
