Furthering my role with Icon NZ I shifted into the Head Office and gained a wider understanding of the business and front end operations, while maintaining my involvement at a project level.Specifically;- Icon NZ Head Office Fit-out/Refurbishment Project. Taking this project from tender stage and developed design through to detailed design & completion. Design/Cost/Site Management.- Involvement with the New Business team on helping tender new jobs & help with ongoing Early Contractor Involvement contracts on several projects.- Boots on the ground for the ECI/Early works on the Lorne St Student Accomodation Project. Coordinating structural/geotechnical investigations in parallel with ongoing demolition and asbestos removal. Involvement with logistics planning.- Continued role as point of contact for VOCO-HIE Hotel Defects Liability Period.- Continued role in Auckland Airport Transport Hub Facade Design & Build working towards consent submission to local authority.

Exposure and training in a wide range of commercial construction management disciplines through the Icon Graduate Programme.Specifically;- Site Supervision/Management of high-end common space fit-outs in the VOCO-HIE Hotel (Project Value $180m NZD). This included 3x commercial kitchens, 2x reception lobbys and NZ's highest rooftop bar. I was also involved with general site management/safety/logistics during this time.-Design Management of the rooftop bar fit-out, from concept drawings through to detailed design. I was also heavily involved in the design management for the commercial kitchens and joinery on the whole project and fortunate enough to be able to site manage the installation and completion of these areas also.- Defect Liability/Post Handover Management (VOCO-HIE). I was the named point of contact for all construction related issues on the project post-handover. This encompassed everything from external/internal leaks to paint defects. I was also quite involved in obtaining relevant building compliance sign-offs from the local authority.- Design Management of the design & build facade on the Auckland Airport Transport Hub project (Project Value ~$300m NZD). Organising and chairing meetings between architects, facade engineers & facade suppliers/subcontractors. Maintaining design/manufacture programme to align with overall construction programme.- Establishing Greenstar & Design management processes within a new project team. Various registers and workflow processes.- Assisted in letting subcontract work packages and administering payment claims for several trades including facade & external maintenance access.

Work at various residential construction companies throughout school/uni/summer breaks. Combined approx. 1 year of full-time hammer hand type work experience. Use of belt and power tools. Projects ranging from farm pole sheds through to residential houses and town house blocks.
