Stephen Hatton is a Senior Customer Solution Architect at Fujitsu. Colleagues describe him as "I worked with Stephen for circa 5 years on a Fujitsu account that provided managed services to a large UK Government Ministry. Stephen was one of my senior architects who was responsible for the successful design and implementation of predominately network and security solutions. Fujitsu's core managed service for the customer was the hosting of a system exchange solution. This solution was complex in nature due to having to meet the needs of a diverse spectrum of users and connected systems, who belonged to many different government departments. A further complexity was having to work with sub-contractors as well as third parties employed on behalf of the customer. Stephen was able to successfully implement solutions within this environment. Stephen successfully delivered Network & Security Solution Architectures, most of which were critical and challenging, and implemented them into a very complex environment that met the customer's requirements and in particular adhered to the the customer's security requirements for the handling of its sensitive data. Stephen also provided design and implementation for infrastructure projects including Data Centre migrations, decommissions, service consolidations and service terminations. Stephen was also involved in designing and implementing several cloud solutions using OpenStack and VMware vCloud based IaaS platforms. For these, Stephen's attitude was outstanding - he was tenacious in researching and collaborating to find answers to our application issues. This he did very successfully. As a result, Stephen has significantly increased his Cloud experience and capabilities. Stephen works well both in a team as well as being able to lead his own team of architects. In addition to his design responsibilities Stephen would often take responsibility for troubleshooting operational and service issues typically directing and coordinating resources to successfully resolve the issue. Stephen also provided support for his colleagues in projects, operations and service management to ensure the best outcome was achieved. Stephen's performance was often recognised within Fujitsu whereupon he was nominated for and awarded with several awards. In summary, I'd not hesitate to have Stephen in a team of mine - he is an outstanding Architect with strong management and mentoring capabilities too.
