Constantly added new staff to meet the headcount and expertise needs of this rapidly growing business. Responsible for Business Development, Sales and Engineering services delivery for the Southeast region. Cultivated customer relationships and delivered engineering services to meet contractual requirements and budget commitments.

Oversaw all product development operations of 90 employees at two development sites. Recruited and reorganized to create a more effective engineering organization. Results achieved by restructuring management team, installing disciplined processes and effecting cultural change.

Led large product development organization with facilities in Woodcliff Lake NJ, Dallas Texas, Irvine Ca, Westwood Ca, Pleasanton Ca and Hombrechtikon, Switzerland. Product lines included Sun OS based network management platforms, TDM switches, Frame switches, Packet switches, Routers and ATM switches.

Principal member of Cygnus Computers, a small, privately funded networking startup. Produced a highly robust communications switching node based upon a proprietary datagram-based Dynamic Adaptive Routing Algorithm. Switching product supported numerous interface protocols.Fostered a highly motivated, very productive development team. Grew the 80% gross margin business very rapidly from $300K to $25M over 5 years. TimePlex purchased Cygnus Computers in 1988.
