Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, responsible for the technical delivery of key contracts.Manage Engineering workload to meet project milestones.Technical point of contact for customers and internal engineering teams.Management of customer requirements including new product introduction and variations.Creation of project documentation including requirements, specifications and reports.Compliance management to RGS, BS, and Rail specific standards – including EN50155.Interface with Vehicle Acceptance (VAB / NOBO) or vehicle builder for system approvals. Project delivery and travel worldwide (recently Poland and Switzerland).

Servicing: Carried out 100, 500 and 1000hour services on a range of 30t – 1200t cranes. Including full inspection tests of all safe load indicating systems (SLI). Tested all hydraulic systems and electrical circuits/components. Also highlighting/recording problems for future preventative maintenance.Commissioning/Training: Delivered new cranes to customers. This involved a five-day hand over of the product, constantly working with the operators and service personnel. To ensure they fully understand the operating procedures, capabilities and service techniques to ensure minimum breakdowns and down time.FAULT FINDING: I Used laptops and technical drawings to find hydraulic (both open and closed loop) faults, but also on a range of electrical systems from SLI systems to lighting and can bus faults.Field Service: I worked in remote locations and at various company depots. I worked independently and managed various teams supplied to me by the customer, to ensure the product was repaired quickly and efficiently. During this process I would often liaise with the owner or owners of the company, giving me the opportunity to discuss the product on both a technical and marketing levels.

Carried out electrical, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance routines on a range of wind turbines to the manufacturer specification.Worked on call and long hours to ensure a high productivity of the turbines on a range of wind farms from both onshore and offshore.Carried out modifications and also worked on larger projects such as changing generators and gearboxes.Liaised with customers and sub-contractors but also took on the role of site management for certain sites. Ensuring technicians adhered to on-site safety rules and practices.

Checked all hydraulic and electrical circuits, setting of all pressures and relief valves. Carried out full function testing for third party inspections.Carried out full commission of offshore cranes including the fitting of booms, overload test and hydrostatic testing. Delivering the product on and off site ensuring all customer specifications were met to the highest standard.Worked on a range of products both electrically and diesel driven, constantly working with both electrical and hydraulic schematics.Electrical Engineer (2004 - 2005)Initial training for commissioning engineer role, Involved the basics from running cables to terminating large switch cabinets.Worked with schematics and extensive work on PLC systems, intrinsically safe products including inclinometers, angle sensors, limit switches, modules pressure transducers and load cells.I also spent some time in the maintenance department to also develop my fault-finding techniques.Mechanical Engineer (2001 - 2004)Fitted all major components on ship, offshore and harbor mobile cranes. Including slew rings, gearboxes, luffing rams, winches, and completing a full hydraulic hose fit out.Extensive in-house training on hose manufacture.Worked in the pre-assembly department, which involved the construction of all hydraulic components, drive trains, motors and gearboxes.

Working on both ship and offshore cranes I worked in the pre-assembly area which involved the construction of all hydraulic components, motors, pumps, valves, control blocks, tanks and gearboxes. I was also trained in the making of all hydraulic hoses, high and low pressure this involved extensive in house training. My main tasks involved the building of all hydraulic circuits, open and closed systems. The construction of all the major components in the crane for example gearboxes, slewing rings, winches, cabin, oil coolers and also the smaller parts such as access ladders and platforms.
