Responsible for the Engineering and Maintenance functions across all ALMC sites.

Responsible for maintenance and projects for Geocycle, including 3 personnel, a maintenance budget of $1 million, and a Capital budget of $2.5 million over 2 years. Geocycle’s Dandenong fuel blending facility produces 20,000 tonnes of High Viscosity fuel for Cement Australia’s cement kilns in Tasmania and Queensland, operating in a very tight supply chain environment with an average storage capacity of 2 days .

Responsible for maintenance and projects at the Bulwer Island facility, including 11 personnel, a maintenance budget of $3 million, and a Capital budget of $12 million over 5 years, excluding a new silo of $33 million due for commissioning in 2008. The plant produces 1.3 million tonnes of cement for the South Queensland and Northern New South Wales markets, operating in a very tight supply chain environment with an average storage capacity of 2 days and a maximum storage capacity of only 5 days.

Gladstone

Responsible for the operation and continual improvement of the Chlorine Plant at the Orica Yarwun site in Gladstone. With an annual operating budget of $4.4 million, and a Capital budget of $500K. The plant produces 12,000 t/yr of Chlorine gas, 36 t/day of Hydrochloric Acid and 2500 l/day of Sodium Hypo chloride for the Queensland and Northern New South Wales markets.

Member of the Business Unit operations team involved in the continuous improvement of the operation. The role involved identifying, scoping and initiating capital improvement projects, designing and cost estimating, coordinating other design engineers as well as improving maintenance and production practices. The role reported to the Area Superintendent and was focused on driving improvements in the equipment operational costs and plant unit capabilities.

Townsville, Australia

Responsible for the maintenance of a number of areas of plant including the Ammonia Plant and Area 360. The role included the management of the area maintenance teams ( 10 fitters and 1 foreman ) and the planning of all maintenance activities including annual shutdowns.

Townsville

Manager of the “Mechanical Branch” responsible for the maintenance of the road construction equipment fleet in the Cloncurry and Townsville districts. Was in charge of the workshop and the field servicing personnel ( 8 - 20 mechanics ). My role also included the acquisition and disposal of all machinery in the fleet and the certification of all Road Trains in the North Western district.
