This included the identification of;• Suitable methods of access control• A complimentary and unique pallet of street furniture and paving materials• Revisions to the existing TRO's• The necessary realignment of footways and carriageways• Existing barriers to movement and thier removal / resiting, eg, steps into shops, guard rail / fencing, planting, etc.It was also necessary to liaise with Preston City Council, Preston Bus, Local Business forum, cycling forum and taxi operators to ensure agreement of policy for issues such as deliveries / pick ups, employee parking, peak hour restrictions, materials etc.Church StreetResponsible for the design of a traffic calming scheme to identify and address a specific safety problem outside the night spots of Preston on Church Street and connecting Streets.Heysham to M6 BypassResponsiblities included the preparation of noise calculations, buildability exercises for various sections including the section to run through Lancaster and Morecambe College campus. The results of these being included within the Councils Proof of Evidence at Public Inquiry.Caton Road - Bus LanesResponsible for the site survey, data collection and analysis for the preparation of a feasibility study into potential improvements for Public transport into Lancaster City Centre.

The works involved liaison with a Landscape Architect Consultancy and attendance at client meetings to report on progress, post contruction site safety issues and liaise with other disciplines.Responsibilities also included the Pavement Design for the various lengths of carriageway alongside the on street sections of track. Again with Client meetings to gain approval of suitable surfacing materials and aggregates.Liaison with the Traffic Signals Designer, who was based in the Adelaide office, to assist with the production of the traffic signals drawings. Leading onto the production of Road Markings and Traffic Signs drawings of the on street sections in conjunction with NCC to ensure the clear zone was implemented efficiently and successfully.Works also included the use of AutoCAD and Autotrack to verify vehicle movements to assist in the identification of a suitable access route for an oil tanker to access a private residence. I also assisted the Drainage engineer in the production of both the Drainage and Ducting drawings.
