I work with a mix of career civil servants and expert contractors; including telecommunications professionals, finance, digital & commercial specialists, analysts and project management specialists. I also work with a number of internal and external stakeholders in a Government-led and funded commercial delivery programme to deliver next generation digital infrastructure across the central belt of the country, providing project delivery, contract management and supplier / stakeholder management assurance. I own the programme delivery governance for multiple, high profile and high value local body investment projects that are working in collaboration between the public sector and telecommunication market to deliver cutting edge digital infrastructure across the county, with regular exposure to ministers and public sector senior stakeholders.

Engaging with and supporting Local Authorities through the challenge fund bid process, directly managing a range of projects being run at a local level by Local Government or devolved government. Responsible for providing advice and guidance to Local Bodies and acting as the point of expertise to drive delivery by making sure the ongoing roll-out of projects is closely tracked and risks to delivery are effectively mitigated and managed. Owning and resolving problems that arise and escalating as necessary through internal governance boards and Ministers. Providing strategic advice and guidance to the local delivery programmes and represent BDUK at senior board level meetings with Local Bodies and suppliers.Provide technical, legal and commercial advice to Local Bodies drawing on expert advice, as required, being knowledgeable upon value for money and state aid provisions and ensuring that projects comply with the requirements and meet assurance standards.
