I am the metals guy. Design Engineers come to me to help them decide which metals to use for different applications. I'm also the Corrosion Expert. Field corrosion is a manageable problem and people depend on me to help ensure we don't have field failures. Finally, I'm the hardware component engineer and I am the go to guy for all things hardware related. Hardware is a complex world and Design Engineers count on me to provide them with the right hardware for the job.-Oversee Metallurgical laboratory for adherence to technical and laboratory best practices. Key technical contact for recent AS9100 where I helped downgrade a major finding to a minor-Review and approve weekly and monthly process control testing paperwork that maintains quality workmanship for critical assembly line processes and materials-Developed and integrated new material 6101 to compete with incumbent 6061 in increased thermal conductivity while not sacrificing needed mechanical strength-As Team Lead, I help manage work load and special projects to ensure efficient workflow through the department

Metallurgical lead for development of new programs.I'm most proud of the work I did to incorporate high laboratory quality standards to the Metallurgical laboratory. I wrote the Laboratory Manual and worked hard to implement it not just as another passing procedure but as a go to guide for all shop floor employees held to it. This high standard led to multiple zero findings audits from (the very meticulous) Nadcap.Additionally, I believe I gained the respect of my fellow engineers as a person they could trust for thorough design and problem analysis. Because of this, I was able to lead the company through some difficult design choices and implement resilient solutions.-Developed carburization process for extremely complex gears that brought in-house $500,000/year worth of work-Authored complex failure analysis for magnesium housing that identified hidden defect, allowing the problem to be identified and addressed-Identified design flaw in critical part that hadn't been realized. Through my laboratory expertise and knowledge of raw material production, I was able to quantify the problem and implement a solution that kept my company out of hot water-Practiced the principle of high quality ethical standards. Stood for the right even when it was incovenient or difficult.
