I spent 20 years as a City & Guilds qualified Motor Vehicle technician & MOT licenced tester at main dealerships in the Hertfordshire area. Moving into Service Reception as a team leader at Godfrey Davis Ford in1986 helped me to develop my customer service & people skills before taking on a position as Aftersales Manager at Lisles Fiat. During this time I became a member of the Institute of Motor Industry and currently hold A.M.I.M.I accreditation.Moving from a workshop / dealership environment to become a Claims engineer at Warranty Holdings was a major change of direction which took me outside of my comfort zone but enabled me to utilise my technical knowledge whilst learning new skills and obtaining an NVQ level 2 in customer service. Initally working on the Peugeot account I was seconded to Training & Development before an internal transfer to W.H.A Ltd to become Technical support and eventually Assistant Operations Manager.The role of Senior Claims Engineer at QBE Insurance Europe Ltd handling MBI claims for a major motor client gave me the opportunity to use my technical skills as well as developing an understanding of insurance products such as MBI, Tyre & Gap products as well as reviewing policy wordings and assisting in the development of an on-line claims system . Becoming Branch Claim Manager at QBE I now manage a team of claim engineers assessing claims for the Ford Protect extended warranty scheme.Specialties: Technical knowledge, Policy wordings, procedures, claim assessment, system development and training
