Working to provide employees at Mark-Taylor with the education and resources they need to lead successful communities and personal-professional well-being.
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
Worked as the Marketing and Communications Manager at the Arizona Community Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona. I work on all marketing materials, including newsletters and annual report. I work with our Brand and Impact team.
Red Lodge, Montana, United States
As the nonprofit program director, I worked with more than 60 nonprofit organizations and their leaders, providing them with financial and educational opportunities to be successful. At the forefront of my position was organizing one of the state's largest charitable 5K/10K runs, the Carbon County Annual Fun Run for Charities. In its 18 years, it raised more than $3 million for local charities. I also worked with a steering committee during the course of two years to develop and begin operations (in February 2021) of a county-wide transportation system.

Ames, Iowa
As the editor-in-chief, my main obligation was to be the face of the organization. On a weekly basis, I set up meetings with other campus leaders, such as members from the Student Government, the ROTC programs, members of the Student Union Board and others, to make sure the quality of our publication was best serving Iowa State University. On a daily basis, I helped run the production of the newspaper, with the help of our managing editor of content. I worked with her to make sure all of our editors had everything they needed to succeed. We held a weekly staff meeting to review the week and reward those who exceeded expectations.I also attended weekly and monthly meetings with other professionals and leaders within our organization, to discuss what happened in all of the departments at the Daily. These meetings were extremely important because they were not only a learning opportunity for other departments, but it kept everyone updated on where the departments were at with meeting expectations.
As a reporter, I covered intramural sports at Iowa State University as well as varsity sports, such as women's track and field, football and women's basketball. I took part in planning larger stories, covering live events and writing recaps, briefs and features for each sport.
As the Managing Editor of Digital Platforms, I managed the digital aspect of our publication. That included everything from working with videographers, photographers and social media-using reporters to better reach our audience. I used Google Analytics to better the Daily's content by seeing what times were most appropriate to put content on the website, as well as learning how the audience reacted to our social media efforts.I came up with an intricate schedule for posting stories to our website, Twitter and Facebook accounts. While using Google Analytics, I learned certain pieces of content did better at different times of the day. While using the Social Media Schedule, the Daily increased its web traffic, as well as social media follows (Twitter) and likes (Facebook). The Daily still uses the schedule today.
For the summer of 2013, I headed the Iowa State Daily as the Editor in Chief. I continued utilizing some of the best elements of the Daily with my staff as well as moved the Daily forward in an innovated way; enhancing the visual portion of the organization to the best of my ability.
As the Sports Online Editor, I revised an online schedule for other online positions at the Iowa State Daily. As a football beat reporter, I talked to players and coaches weekly about what was happening with the team. I wrote features, previews, recaps, immediate recaps and commentary pieces about the Iowa State football team.

As a student ambassador for Iowa State University's journalism school, I was responsible for leading sessions with prospective students and their parents, informing them what it was like to be a student within the journalism school.I would lead sessions with and without the guidance of professional advisors, informing about cost, rankings, student media and other topics in an hour-long presentation. Afterward, I would lead the group (anywhere from three to 15 people) on a tour of the Greenlee School, showing classrooms, technology and answering any questions students or parents might have.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I covered a large variety of prep sports for the Cedar Rapids Gazette during the summer. I was all over eastern Iowa covering baseball, softball, golf, tennis and even some auto racing.
