One year secondment in a joint London Councils / GLA role supporting the capital’s economic recovery. Working on delivering the joint Recovery Missions.

Providing in-house consultancy support. Pleased to have worked with Places for People, and Commercial Estates Group (CEG). Activity includes:• Leading elements of bids around major development opportunities (strategic land, brownfield and estate renewal), including producing overarching engagement strategies, skills and training programmes, social value.• Public consultation and engagement, consultation activities relating to formal planning processes & building strong local relationships.• Engagement with local politicians and senior officers, devolved administrations and national agencies, including Homes England and LEPs.Strong background in social value and economic development. Real focus on building local partnerships.

• This role’s remit was to set up, secure, grow and manage a consortium of local authorities, Colleges, Local Enterprise Partnerships and businesses, working with political leaders, board members, Principals and senior officers. • Developing strategic work programmes with industry, with a focus on property and development, as well as the tech sector.• Tasked with running all aspects of the organisation’s public affairs activities, including delivering an All Party Parliamentary Group. Also coordinating a range of major conferences and reports with senior politicians and officials.• Taking a strategic approach and delivering against clear targets including the formation of an inter-regional public-private lobby group to secure major rail investment, which in less than five years has delivered over £300m investment. • Setting up and managing the consortium’s communications strategy, around clear messages and brand. Also developing our social media and website, delivering rapid results on a very limited budget, around a focused series of key strategic objectives.• Acting as a spokesperson for the organisation; media, conferences, seminars.

• Developing a strong partnership across north London public agencies, securing common policies around issues such as housing development, economic development and employment.• Working closely with GLA, national and local politicians and officials.• Successes included raising the profile of outer London’s economy, unlocking major investment from the Mayor of London and delivering significant changes in planning and urban policy at the regional and national level.

Working across England to deliver strong partnerships with key regional bodies, such as the Regional Development Agencies. Also links with national government and engagement with key private sector bodies and companies, such as major housebuilders.
