After many years in the City of London as a Lloyd’s broker, together with three years representing the company in Tokyo, Stephen set up his own company ASSETtrac Ltd in 1999, which specialises in supplying paper free asset management solutions to commercial companies, universities, and the public sector. In addition to numerous articles and seminars, he has appeared on BBC radio and TV discussing the benefits of replacing written records with integrated tag, mobile scanner and Cloud based software solutions. Stephen is married with three grown up sons, lives in West Sussex, and is a governor at a local primary school. His hobbies include classical music, walking, wine, and supporting Newcastle United Football Club, his place of birth. Following a choral scholarship to Lichfield cathedral and Repton School and early training in piano, cello, and organ, he has conducted musical concerts to fund local village charities. Recent new interests include cycling and in 2019 he joined Horsham Cycling Club where he is an active member, riding up to 70 miles a week round West Sussex, and completed last year's Ride London 100.
