BBC at Bristol Food Connections: responsible for devising, planning and implementing a £750,000, 11 day free food festival that features live food demos, family friendly hands-on activities around healthy eating and food education, a live radio broadcast hub (to play host to everyone from Clare Balding to Richard Bacon and Ken Hom in Conversation with Sheila Dillon). My responsibilities included everything from devising the main themes of the series as well as the story lines of each episode. THE ONE SHOWDuring its debut year, I was part of the three man team responsible for commissioning and managing over 800 short form films. My role encompassed identifying potential stories, developing ideas and building relationships with suppliers, as well as chaperoning specific films to air within budget and to fast turnaround delivery dates. I worked across factual entertainment, natural history and consumer, including the successful strands, ‘Food Ambassadors’ & ‘Christmas Food Ambassadors’, ‘Hardeep’s Map of Britain’, ‘Public Art’ and ‘House Where I Grew Up’. The One Show’s recipe of broad, content rich story telling from across the whole country resulted in audience ratings of over five and a half million and upwards of 25% share.
