Staff Sergeant (SSG) Stephen J. Little was born in Tiffin OH, and raised in the small town of Shippensburg, PA. Stephen joined the Army a year after graduating high school in December 2015, shipped to Basic Combat Training in Fort Jackson, SC. On May 24, 2016, in Fort Gregg-Adams VA, he was awarded the MOS 91H Tracked Vehicle Maintainer. SSG Little’s assignments include HHC / JFSC 1st Battalion 5th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, TX; A Troop, 1st Squadron 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, CA and is currently assigned as an Army Recruiter at the Altoona Army Recruiting Station. SSG Little’s duty positions throughout his career include: Tracked Vehicle Repairer; Recovery Crew Operator; Unit Armorer; Senior Track Mechanic; Squad Leader; Shop Foreman and Army Recruiter. SSG Little went overseas with JFSC 1-5 CAV in support of the Republic of South Korea.His military education includes the Advanced Leader's Course (91H), Army Recruiter Course, Basic Leader’s Course, Department of the Army Retention Training, Combat Lifesaver Course, Recovery Operations (Tracked), Unit Armorer Course. SSG Little is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Project Management.His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (X3), Army Achievement Medal (X8), Army Good Conduct Medal (X3), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He has also been awarded the Army Recruiter Badge, Master Mechanic Badge, Master Wheeled Driver Badge and Master Tracked Driver Badge. SSG Little is married to his wife, Ashanica.
