I am a Director of Software Development at Comcast leading teams in the development of backend services for our video platform. I have 5 teams with over 40 full-time employees and contractors. The teams are responsible for all aspects of these services – code development, testing, security, deployment, and operations. I encourage an environment where people can grow their skills and take their career to the next level.I have had many accomplishments at Comcast that positively impacted our video business. I led a team to develop 3 new backend services for North American and European markets. I created a team of 9 engineers at our India office to support and maintain X1 legacy services. I led teams to improve deployment processes and reduce cost by 20% using AWS ELB’s and auto-scaling. I identified cost saving opportunities using AWS Cost Explorer and had teams implement changes. I led the effort to open source a software download and configuration tool for RDK devices. I led the effort to develop a backend service for in-grid advertisements in the X1 Guide to increase ad revenue. I prepared annual budgets for AWS cloud computing and contractors with a total budget of $2.5M. I hired, coached, and promoted senior developers and managers.My skills include Java, Junit, TestNG, Bash shell, C, C++, Cassandra/Scylla DB, AWS, Git, splunk, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. I have some experience in JavaScript, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and Concourse.
