I am a heavy equipment operator for the City of Winnipeg, aiming to transition into a new career in software development. I am currently a part-time student at Red River College, aiming to complete my current Software Development program by early 2022.Previously, I have taken courses from RRC that fall under their Computer and Network Technician program, and a Python Coding MOOC offered by the University of Michigan through Coursera. I have also completed two undergraduate degrees from the University of Manitoba (BSc and BA-Psychology Honours) and an ISA Arboriculture Certificate, also through the University of Manitoba.Before working for the City of Winnipeg, I was employed by Manitoba Conservation, in the Fire Program serving as a Fire Ranger and Initial Attack crew member. I have also worked part time as a Freelance Arborist.My education and work experience is quite varied, and I view this broad history as an asset, giving me a good perspective when I encounter new challenges.I have a kind and empathetic personality, and work well both alone and as part of a team. When working with a team, I facilitate effective communication and cooperation.
