Planning and organizing drivers for their daily runs. Working with a team of 5 city drivers to coordinate daily pick up and deliveries. Working with different customers to make sure their transportation needs are met. Supervising 25-30 drivers daily. Assisting with hiring and training. Working with 3rd party mechanic facilities for our equipment needs.

Supervising the yard and all the day to day activities. Working with dispatch, the shop and warehouse to keep their daily needs met. Working in a relief role for dispatch and operations when people were away.

Responsible for:• Supervising 14-18 Employees• Planning and scheduling truck maintenance with leasing companies for 14-18 units, and updating and retaining accurate maintenance records (excel)• Supervising city dispatch, arranging loads and pick ups• Supervising office and staff• Arranging out of town pick-ups and deliveries with cartage agents• Working under timed deadlines• Developing and maintaining various cost and control measures including effective purchasing, and maintaining positive relationships with the vendors • liaising with customers regarding delivery times and shipment updates• assuming acting role in absence of Operations Manager

Mentoring and teaching new employees about the transportation industry. Training employees in forklift operation and TDG.
