(1981 - 1984) Apprentice vehicle mechanic. (1992 - 1994) 13 years in the vehicle repair industry. Further education led to attending colleges and university to gain a Beng(Hons) Degree in product design & manufacture. (1994 - 2000) MIRA (Motor Industry Research Association) to design and develop test rigs for the impact simulation department.• Organise and supervise daily work schedules within the lab environment often running projects from conception to completion.(2000 - 2014) MIRA Environmental test facility in Basildon Essex-Setup with equipment, processes, staff etc. • Oversee all building work and organise sub-contractors as necessary. • Oversee installation and re-commissioning of old and new equipment into new premises. • Procurement of new equipment. • Set-up maintenance and service contracts for the test equipment and plant. • Setting up and running technical projects such as supercharger vibration testing using hydraulic power packs, vacuum pump test rig. Running, full engine Starter motor durability rigs. EV battery for Mercedes. • Assistant Quality manager: responsible for UKAS 17025 accreditation for testing. 2001. Achieved environmental accreditation ISO 14001 and Health & Safety ISO 18000. (2014 - 2021) Staying in Essex I moved to Revolve Technologies but contracted to Ford Dunton to work in the Ford Component Sales department. Duties: • Liaise with customers to better understand their requirements. Organise customer visits to discuss the project in more detail. • Customers include Lotus, Morgan, Caterham, TVR, Noble etc.(2021 - 2023) The contract with Ford ended so I moved back into Revolve technologies as a Senior Compliance Engineer. Duties: • Project Managed the automated tube trailer project which was part funded by Innovate UK. Day to day liaising with the rest of the team. • Presented quarterly presentations to Innovate which included financial reporting of the budget, project risk analysis, project timing plans and project progress. • Hydrogen genset project, to understand the process of CE marking. Understanding how DOI’s (Declaration of Incorporation) are setup. • Instrumental in setting up a Dyno Facility Appraisal with the VCA. Which meant closing out actions. • As hydrogen is not a certified fuel I instigated discussions with various agencies such as the VCA and the STA to better understand the process involved in getting a mono fuel and dual fuel engines certified. The process is still ongoing with the STA with regular update meetings. • Working with DNV & Lloyds Register with supporting documents.
