The system stores energy as heat, based on a closed-cycle Brayton loop in an innovative system architecture which provide cost-effective multi-MWh deep storage and can rapidly respond to grid requirements. I also developed LabView software to control the various system parts (laser source, power control, shutter, data acquisition).• Software for a laboratory test rig, written in Visual C++. This program controlled a pair of industrial translation stages, in order to reproduce patterns of movements selected form a database. It also used data acquisition hardware in the PC to record the performance of the device under test.
