I head Ashfords' award winning Employment Team which has a geographical covering in London, Bristol and Exeter. I also head the Employment and Labour Law Practice group for Advoc. I act for a range of clients predominately for employers in the UK, Europe, Australia and USA. I act for funds, VC's and PE. I act for clients in tech, fintech / financial services, retail, manufacturing and public related services. I also act for senior executives and negotiate favourable exits.I focus on providing commercial, pragmatic and practical solutions for clients and I am often seen as their trusted advisor. I advise on industrial relations (recognition and negotiations), Boardroom appointments & removals, Partnership/ LLP disputes and all employment law issues (from the beginning of an appointment through to the end of the employment relationship and beyond). I'm particularly interested in: Restrictive covenant issues. I advise on senior strategic hires, team moves (I defended in full the substantial claim for interlocutory relief brought in a team move in Capita Plc v Darch & others [2017] IRLR 718) and the enforcement of covenants ( I was lead lawyer in the lead case of Quilter Private Client Advisers Ltd v. Falconer [2020] EWHC 3294 (QB);-Employment Tribunal litigation. - I acted in one of the most high profile whistle blowing cases in the UK in recent years obtaining record damages. I'm as familiar in the High Court as I am in the Employment Tribunal. I am recognised in many publications including Chambers and Legal 500. I have also been the Times Lawyer of the Week. I am asked to comment on employment law issues in most of the main stream news papers. I also appear on BBC TV and radio including the Jeremy Vine Show, BBC 5 Live and LBC. Our employment team is "Employment Team of the year" as awarded by the Lawyer.I hold memberships with the Employment Lawyers Association, International Bar Association and the New York Bar Association.
