Its mission now states it is to provide participants with an opportunity to support DND Indigenous employees and military members; to share information on Indigenous issues; and to provide input on DND issues which impact upon the Indigenous members of DND or the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada.The DAAG has demonstrated over the years that it is an excellent source of advice for the DND/CAF to determine whether its policies (not just those that relate to EE and diversity), which affect the Indigenous Peoples of Canada, are established in a fair and consistent manner.The DAAG and the other four Defence Advisory Groups (DAGs) are unique in the DND/CAF in that their leadership, at all levels, are elected by the membership.
