I was part of the team that carried out an evaluation of World Food Programme (WFP) cooperating partners (CPs) with the objective of:o To assess the value realisation by the CPs in the Economic, Efficient and Effective application of Grants issued in the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for underlying project activities.o Verification of compliance of the CPs with the fund agreement in application of funds to the outlined beneficiary projects per the Grant agreement. o An assessment of the internal control system applied by the project and the effectiveness of the internal control system in protecting assets and resources of the project. o A description of the specific internal control weaknesses noted in the financial management of the project and procedures which may have been instituted to compensate for the weaknesses.o To identify programmatic and management issues that require action by WFP and CPs. o Verification of compliance with the WFP financial procedures , accounting standards and internal control procedures and confirming that proper financial records have been maintained o Conducting audit commencement and a closing meeting with the respective cooperating partners officials as part of consensus on our findings based on our audit. o Preparation of well structured audit reports in line with our findings and recommendations for reporting to relevant stakeholders in light of renewal of the funding agreement between WFP and CPs.
