As a member of the North American Learning & Knowledge team, I was the Program Manager for Early Professional Hires education. Specifically, my role focused on the Apprentice and Internship programs. These programs supported new hire education from their onboarding experience to IBM to core consulting skills they needed to be successful on the job.As the Program Manager for these programs’ education delivery, I was responsible for planning and executing courses that met the needs of stakeholders and their target audience. This work included managing class content, coordinating a pool of facilitators, upskilling new facilitators, and improving subsequent class delivery through routine analysis of learner’s feedback at the end of each class. This rewarding work involved a large team of individuals, apart from the class facilitators. The work involved coordination with business stakeholders, event managers, delivery specialists, and more.

While holding full-time positions at IBM, I also was a facilitator for education delivered to the IBM population through the North American Learning & Knowledge department of IBM Consulting. I delivered both in-person and virtual classes on a variety of topics, including:- Agile Delivery (Agile fundamentals, SAFe portfolio)- Core Consulting Skills (leadership, feedback, communication, presentation, etc.)- Company Onboarding (new hire education)In each of these classes, I fostered and nurtured the professional development and growth of employees at IBM. I facilitated over 90 classes in this capacity.In addition to training and facilitation, I helped shape the content of programs through Instructional Design. Using my skills, I created and/or updated course content, activities, flow, and facilitator speaker notes with a focus on Learner Centered Facilitation. I also spearheaded the virtualization of content during the Covid-19 pandemic, using various software tools like Mural, Poll Everywhere, and Slido to create an immersive learning experience that could compete with in-person learning. Additionally, I shared the knowledge gained with my colleagues through multiple ad-hoc upskilling and “Train the Trainer” sessions.

This portfolio included a wide array of Agile classes, primarily those through ICAgile, ScrumAlliance, and Scaled Agile Framework.As Program Manager, I was responsible for planning and executing Agile education that met the needs of stakeholders and their target audience. This work included managing class content, coordinating a pool of facilitators, upskilling new facilitators, and improving subsequent class delivery through routine analysis of learner’s feedback at the end of each class. This rewarding work involved a large team of individuals, apart from the class facilitators. The work involved coordination with event managers, delivery specialists, financial analysts, procurement officers, and more. In addition to the core responsibilities of the role, I designed a system for tracking and reporting on certifications achieved by the learners. This tracking helped win more client work by demonstrating IBM’s commitment to maintaining industry-recognized and certified individuals.

I spent over nine years supporting a government client in various roles learning the breadth and depth of everything involved with a software development program and portfolio. Except for coding, I gained experience with scope definition, requirements gathering, testing, quality assurance, configuration management, and release (and project) management. Over time, my experience using the full range of skills associated with those responsibilities culminated in me assuming the role of Release Manager for a major PeopleSoft financial application. I managed projects throughout the software development lifecycle from inception to production support. My main responsibility was to ensure successful, quality, and timely delivery of projects to the client. I oversaw the successful implementation of over 100 projects ranging from emergency fixes to major system upgrades. Through my work, I was recognized as a thought leader and participated in multiple Centers of Excellence, where I helped shape the next generation of standards used by the client and its contractors.

I had the amazing opportunity to work with the Housing and Dining Program staff to create a nuturing, safe, and fun environment for which residents of American University could reside during the school year.Not many RA positions require a rigorous curriculum and healthy balance of social and educational programming. The program at American University was an amazing opportunity for the RAs to grow themselves, giving them off site training retreats, weekly education briefings, and cooperative programming opportunities.During my tenure as a Resident Assistant I had the opportunity to oversee two floors in two very distinct buildings. One of my accomplishments to which I hold the utmost pride in are my bulletin boards.• Work with Residential Education staff to provide a healthy living learning environment for resident students• Program events tailored to address the needs of residents as they transition to college

• Write bids/reports to win awards for American University• Plan and coordinate a delegation team for regional and national conferences• Manage a $12,500 conference budget

One of my most intriguing experiences will always be my time spent as an organic farmer at Rodale Organic Farm. There, I assisted the head farmer with tending to the fields, caring for the plants in the greenhouse, and tending to the gardens. While on the job, I expanded my knowledge of various vegetables, fruits, and flowers. I incorporate this knowledge in my hobbies today, and I maintain garden plots in the spring and summer months at my home.More specifically, during my time at Rodale, I tended to beans, peas, strawberries, corn, potatoes, and flowers of all varieties.
