• Implemented the initial stages of Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification with the agricultural producers of the Asociación de Productores Agrícolas de La Hacienda (ADPRA) in Guatemala’s Western Highlands.• Partnered with AGEXPORT (Association of Guatemalan Exporters) to provide direct training and technical support to 36 farmers of green beans and sugar peas in the areas of soil erosion and personal and crop hygiene. • Managed and implemented a Feed the Future grant to compliment the training component by providing the initial capital for certification for costs such as the creation of a nursery for sustainably implementing live barriers on sloped plots and personal protection equipment for applying chemical pesticides, among others. • Connecting ADPRA with other organizations and agricultural extension programs in order to ensure further growth upon completion of the initial project. • Developing and implementing administrative-level controls for the Association such as strategic planning, the adequate tracking of production and income, and a traceability system.
