The primary purpose of this role was to maintain a database that contained all the reference data relating to the company’s fund portfolio, their underlying investments and their unit-linked legal agreements. I would carry out regular audits on the data, against both internal and external sources, to detect issues or stale data and liaise with key stakeholders across the business to cleanse, correct and update the data. I would also use my acquired skills to assist other areas of the business to enhance, streamline or automate cumbersome tasks and processes.

I was the sole Data Analyst in the Customer Services Department so the role was quite varied. I would advise on virtually any data/reporting query that would arise and would regularly create tools that could be used by the administration and technical teams to speed up tasks. This included the validation of scheme transfer data, member unit corrections and loss analysis resulting from pricing errors or purchase delays.

As Quality Auditor, I was responsible for ensuring that the work that the administration teams were doing was of the highest standards by performing an independent review of administrators’ outputs. This included any system updates and anything issued to the customer/clients as a result of the task in hand. This role required an excellent knowledge of all internal processes, procedures, pensions and scheme specific requirements, legal and regulatory measures (Data Protection, AML Regulations, TCF outcomes, etc.). When I identified issues or trends, I held training sessions with individuals to eliminate the company’s exposure to unnecessary risks such as complaints and/or breaches.

As an administrator I was responsible for ensuring that all customer requests relating to workplace pensions were carried out in line with company procedure and regulatory requirements (AML, DPA, TCF, etc.). As a member of a Customer Services team achieving KPI’s was always important. The role required adhering to strict timescales, maintaining a high quality and accuracy of work as well as going the extra mile for customers.
