I have 30+ years experience in industrial petrochemicals process research and development. This includes a major role in the development and successful start up of several first of a kind specialty and commmodity chemical processes, as well as extensive experience in Chemicals R&D. I have significant specializations in crystallizations and solid-liquid spearations, as well as a general emphasis in process design and reaction engineering. Since 2008, I served as a process technology expert deeply involved in the creation of the Energy Biosciences Institute at the University of California at Berkeley. This Institute is focused on the development of breakthrough fundamental science for the development of processes for the conversions of renewable starting materials to biofuels. The major focus has been on the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass (i.e. woods and grasses). As a result I have broad knowledge across all aspects of this field, including the application to the production of renewable chemicals and materials. I retired from BP in early 2012, and am engaged in private consulting in my fields of expertise.
