Early leadership as student head led to a disciplined start in the SANDF where I rose from Platoon Commander to Unit 2nd-in-Command. I attained my B Mil degree at the Military Academy, Stellenbosch University. During these formative years I acquired considerable people, leadership, organizational and tactical / strategy skills.In 1993 I joined African Oxygen where I achieved rapid promotion over a 10-year period from Sales representative to National Bulk Sales Manager. I was exposed to selling, negotiating, CRM, finance, technical, training, contracting and new business development at Branch, Regional and Divisional level. I also obtained my Master's Degree in Business Leadership (MBL) through UNISA.I was approached and joined Murray and Roberts (M&R) in 2003 as MD of Consani Engineering. The shift of market from South Africa to China led to the discontinuation of the Company and I was reassigned as Commercial Director of M&R MEI where I gained skills in the construction industry. My direct involvement in the negotiating team culminated in M&R being awarded the construction contracts for Medupi and Kusile Power Station, where I was the commercial representative from project inception to project implementation. In 2009 I was approached and joined Steinmüller Africa as the Commercial Executive for the Bilfinger Power Africa Group. I established the Commercial Department and was recognized by being awarded the “Bilfinger Best Award” in 2012, a prestigious award made globally to exemplary employees in the Bilfinger Group.In 2015 I was approached and joined General Electric Manufacturing Company, an International JV as General Manager. Here I was responsible for the establishment and management of the start-up business and green fields manufacturing facility for the manufacturing of HRSG pressure parts, which was successfully constructed and commissioned in 2017.The JV was discontinued as the Saudi power focus moved from conventional fossil fuels to renewable energy and in November 2019 and I was approached by AIMS Industrial Division for the position of Business Development Director. In August 2020 I was asked to take over the AIMS Leading Industrial Factory (ALIF) as General Manager.I led ALIF to 2 consecutive years of growth, achieving the highest profit in 2022 seen since 2014 and under challenging market conditions.In June 2024 I joined KCI Swiss as a Management Consultant, focuasing in Commercial.
