Formed Aeteks Systems during the post dot-com meltdown with the goal of building a strong software consulting/development business.Projects:MooDog LLC ( www.moodog.com ). A $120k project for inventory control; eBay integration; work flow; employee productivity analysis; sales and cost reporting; exception reporting; customer portal, and customer tracking. Worked with MooDog’s staff to take this ambitious project from concept to reality. Georgetown Healthcare ( www.georgetownhealthcare.org ). Provided IT consulting on the integration of the billing system with various 3rd party offerings. Designed and delivered a number of web applications for secure data entry and reporting. Americo Insurance ( www.americo.com ). An $800k project using a mix of Java and Microsoft .Net technology, securely providing Americo’s client policies, applications, marketing materials and more to over 5,000 agents world wide.

Perficient is a public software services company (PRFT NASDAQ) providing IT consulting to Fortune 5000 companies. Left Perficient to start Aeteks Systems when Perficient moved operations to St. Louis.Reported to the President yet had to use “influence” because of the daily interaction with Sales, Line of Business Directors, Accounting and others to effect change. This was a matrix role responsible for providing support to each of the Line of Business Directors.The Director of Information Technology and their six person staff was assigned as my direct responsibility. Prior to reporting to me, this department was a “reactive” group that had lapsed into ineffective symptom patching. Made some key staff changes and implemented a customer service culture built on problem prevention – one of checklists, procedures and accountability. After eight months operations were running smoothly and only two IT support staff were needed, saving the company over $200k per year in wages.

President and one of three founding shareholders. Core Objective was a leading edge, object oriented software development company using Java and IBM Websphere to deliver solutions to large customers including the Federal Reserve in Richmond, Virginia and three of the big six Canadian banks. Sold Core Objective to Perficient, Inc. (PRFT NASDAQ) November 2000. Projects:Toronto Association for Community Living. A $750k project where we designed and wrote an enterprise wide client services system to replace and improve upon an aging VAX system. The project involved months of “Use-Case” workshops and a complete redesign of the old system. Assumed project management role at midpoint when it became apparent the project was “never ending” -- delivered successful conclusion.Lombard Insurance. Conducted training courses for Lombard’s “legacy” developers. Converted Lombard’s terminal applications to web applications.

Hired to help grow the company’s new software development division and quickly promoted to Operations Manager. Helped develop web-banking for Canada Trust (now TD Bank). Left to form Core Objective.

Grew Dimensions to forty-three people before selling it. Dimensions Computer developed software for over 600 businesses in the building supply market (similar to Home Depot). Functionality included general ledger; accounts payable; accounts receivable; inventory control; purchase orders; on-line supplier integration with automatic reordering (EDI); bill-of-materials; point of sale; order entry and quotations. A large single system handled over 34 cash check-out lanes and $60m in annual sales.
