Having migrated from the UK I joined ARG as an Operational Maintainer in late 2005. I held this role for 18 months, prior to becoming a trainee locomotive driver and then subsequently a Main Line qualified driver. After a year on the track, I was offered a position as an Operational Supervisor (SDS Yard) which I held for 18 months. In June 2009, I changed role to a Driver Coordinator, a position I hold to date, presently titled SDS Train Crew.Throughout my career, I have achieved Certificate IVs in Transport and Logistics, Training and Assessing and Front Line Management.I was chosen to become a derailment champion in 2011 allowing me to travel to Canberra and Queensland for training and experience.In the role of SDS Train Crew, I have assisted in the integration and ongoing support of Distributive Power Technology into the depot.My experience and knowledge of Distributive Power technology is often sought within the company. I operated the first Cliffs 160 wagon length DP test train, assisted in training all Esperance drivers, and developed numerous fault finding processes and procedures. These developed guides and training videos are now utilised throughout the company.This experience has been beneficial in allowing me to appreciate the difficulties and successes involved with integrating new technologies and projects into the depot. This has also afforded me the opportunities of building excellent working relationships with colleagues in other areas of the company including Engineering and Maintenance, Business Development, Operations and Customer Service.I have acted in the role as Service Delivery Manager on numerous occasions, covering annual leave and short term transfer for a 6 month period.At the 2015 Aurizon Awards, Esperance Service Delivery was nominated for excellence in Customer Service. I play a key role in this nomination by hosting weekly review meetings with various stakeholders, Including Cliffs and Esperance Port.
