Initial tasks required the development of a Production Control and Shipping/Receiving group with associated inventory and planning processes. Objectives and results have included the reduction of order turn-around-time, inventory and repair cost through the use of logistical solutions, third party outsourcing and asset sales and materials management

Responsible for supporting manufacturing at five facilities, including two in Mexico, in the areas of sourcing, contracting, procurement and supply base management for machining, powdered metals, cold heading, and injection molding. Defined the Machining Strategy and led the outsourcing of Schlage Lock’s Machining Division (San Francisco) work resulting in $1.6M per year savings. Provided sourcing solutions for multiple value engineering projects and new product start-ups including Schlage Lock’s new high security electronic lock.

Responsibilities included setting the direction for thirteen Purchasing professionals involved with the planning and procurement of electrical components and electrical assemblies for the Commercial Avionics Systems division, interfacing with the Corporate Commodity Group in selecting a preferred supplier base.
