Research, development, implementation, execution and maintenance of automated solutions and innovations.I created a tool to copy multiple MQ messages to target databases which is critical for QA test effort. For this I received a recognition award.Creation and maintenance of an Automation Hub which is a website from which different tools can be run including automated solutions.Development and maintenance of automated solutions using Selenium WebDriver, SQL scripts and an Automation Manager, which runs the automation on a server using Team City and reports to Test Rail.During regression cycles this is used to run hundreds of test runs within a week which would take months to run manually. One of the biggest projects automated was DOC1 migration to Inspire, with thousands of scenarios sent to me by the QA team and automated for use in Regression and to produce letters for a multitude of scenarios with expected doc codes at any time. Using Quadient to compare the outputs, this has proved invaluable during the monthly Regression cycle.I also manage builds and deployments for the Development team and maintain a QA database which requires code for Jiras to be merged on a regular basis.I have also used the SmartBear products Test Complete and Ready API in this role.

Creating and maintaining full page object automation suite in Selenium WebDriver C# using the MbUnit .NET framework on a Gallio platform which has since been upgraded to a XUnit framework. The automation writes results of thousands of tests to Test Rail and is browser agnostic using IE, Chrome or MS Edge.Created various SQL scripts which are triggered to run on the server once a week populate the relevant tables with the data required for each regression run.Every web element on every page of the application is mapped to specific classes within the solution and tests are run using these methods. When tests are run for specific scenarios additional tasks are subsequently run in which comparisons are made between Baseline and Regression PDF letters and databases with emails sent to the requesters.Regression is run on a monthly basis and defects are found by the automated regression pack during every run which are then flagged to the relevant QA and Development teams.

Realex were in the process of upgrading their logging from a OLTP database to DataStax Cassandra. In order to test this, various XML requests were posted, either manually using REST Client or using the automation suite created in IBM Rational Integration Tester. These were then used to generate specific errors which I could then check were correctly displayed in the Cassandra distributed database, with extra tests to ensure that the credit card number or CVN was not shown. The Log Search API functionality was then tested by running specific commands in the REST Client to return the logging information from Cassandra. There are additional applications and systems in Realex Payments which had to be tested including performance enhancements to their front end customer terminal. For these tests I used JMeter to load thousands of transaction requests to the database which were then displayed by the front end application where the performance was analysed and regression ran to ensure existing functionality worked as expected.Security is a big issue in Realex and I was called upon to test changes which were made to the Card Masking XML in Linux, which had to be tested across all their systems to ensure the change didn’t impact existing functionality.

May 2015 - Nov 2015

Software Test Engineer

Dublin

For six months I worked in BearingPoint testing a website being developed in-house for Yorkshire Building Society, with a particular emphasis on share plans used in the SAYE scheme. Most of the testing was manual, using SoapUI to check web service information was correct and using a variety of different customers to test acceptance criteria detailed in user stories stored in Confluence. Detailed test cases and test plans were created based on the user stories at the beginning of a sprint. Defects and dashboards were managed in Jira. The project used the AGILE model and the sprint duration was 2 weeks. Testing was run on Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer and new builds were ran daily using Team City. Once the website was developed and tested I participated in demo sessions showing the latest changes to the client. In my time on this project I raised over 500 defects, and apart from thoroughly testing the website I was the primary database tester using SQL Developer to ensure that the correct information was written to the database and the flags were updated as specified. For an additional three months I also worked with BearingPoint testing the BT and Eircom CMS application “Infonova R6”. Most of the work with the BT CMS has involved adding new customers and services, running usage, billing the accounts and ensuring that the correct products and rates are shown on the invoice and in the CSV billing files.

Aug 2014 - May 2015

Senior System Tester

Bt Ireland

Dublin

For over 14 years I worked as a senior tester in BT Ireland. In my time with BT Ireland I have spent time testing every single application, UNIX server and Oracle database used by the company, though my particular area of expertise is in billing, which was primarily white box testing. As the sole billing tester I had to ensure that every system that had any connection to billing functioned as expected with every new release. This role involved a lot of test preparation such as creating test plans and test cases, working with VB applications, UNIX, Oracle Enterprise Linux and using SQL queries on a daily basis. In addition I have over 10 years of web testing experience with the Siebel Communications customer care centre, which was used to create orders, line items and process steps for a range of products.I have also created automation scripts, objects and functions using HP QuickTest Professional for a web-based application called Glan.In my time with BT Ireland I have worked with many SQS contractors who shared their knowledge and test reporting methods which were adopted by the in-house test team, so there was always a very up-to-date structured testing methodology in place.I am very flexible and have the ability to work on my own initiative or as part of a team, in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.

Software Tester

Softex

Leopardstown

I worked on manual stress and localisation testing of their application Ringmaster. Defects were logged in a Microsoft Access/VB database. Most of the tests involved functional and exception testing on the software, which was Telecommunications based, and utilised dummy log files containing traffic and phone call data.

Sep 1998 - Oct 1999

Software Tester

Cabinteely

I performed testing duties in the BNC (Branch Network Console) conversion to NT. Most of the testing was manual, though some experience was gained of the ATF Radstar test toolThe testing was mainly on a UNIX platform using in-house banking applications.
