In conjunction with my wife, purchased an existing local Pie & Pastry wholesale operation and through the application of my FMCG, Supply Chain and Accounting knowledge, transformed the business to focus on supplying nationally to Australia’s major retailers, simultaneously increasing turnover by 500% whislt improving profit margins. Key initiatives included:• Identified, developed and managed relationships with Woolworths, Coles, ALDI and Franklins• Developed and implemented HACCP systems including certification to Woolworths WQA standard for high risk products • Developed and implemented Sales & Operations Planning capabilities including collaboration with customers on demand forecasting, production scheduling and replenishment tools• Implemented inventory management procedures and yield control mechanisms to allow daily management of production efficiencies• Implemented links into customer’s e-commerce trading systems for access to sales history, orders and delivery information • Developed and managed the design and delivery to market of new products• Implemented strategies for the outsourcing of storage and national distribution of finished goods
