Highly motivated individual with in excess of 10 years’ experience working with John Sisk & son building contractors both in the UK and Ireland. Initially started with Sisk as an undergraduate engineer in Pembroke Power station where gained vast experience in the construction environment. After a prosperous period as an undergraduate and successful completion of my college degree I re-joined my Pembroke colleagues completing Cleveland energy from waste centre and Carrington Power Station before returning to Ireland to Edenderry Power plant, ICE Award winning Project of the Year Pairc Ui Chaoimh and currently working on another high profile job in the Curragh Racecourse Redevelopment.I excelled quite quickly with the company and was entrusted with significant responsibilities on the all projects using initiative to manage packages as effectively as possible.Currently working as an Executive engineer in the Capital Roads Department with my Local Authority, overseeing Pavement Improvement and Realignment Schemes across Tipperary's National Roads. In addition I'm also acting as a Procurement Coordinator carrying out Pre-Compliance checks before advertising upcoming Works and services on e-tenders whilst implementing Green Procurement ensuring Climate Action guidelines are also incorporated.

The centrepiece of the redevelopment will see the creation of a major new grandstand which will incorporate five star corporate facilities, restaurants, bars and superb viewing facilities for the public. A new arrivals and reception area will incorporate a brand new visitor attraction incorporating a museum to celebrate the history of racing in Ireland and the contribution Ireland has made to the sport worldwide. A new parade ring will ensure that more patrons can share in the excitement and build up to the racing. A new weigh room will provide even better facilities for the jockeys. Construction was ongoing throughout the summer whilst accommodating 2018 calender racing utilising a part handover and temporary facilities. The project will be fully handed over in time for 2019 racing season.

The 45,000 capacity Páirc Uí Chaoimh redevelopment includes a new 13,000 capacity three tier reinforced concrete South Stand complete with a 40m cantilever feature steel roof. The North Stand is a single tier stand with a 25m cantilever roof which accommodates 8,000 spectators and associated facilities. The new Eastern and Western Terraces comprise partial demolition and extension of the existing terrace structures and include piled concourse areas.The South Stand is host to the main commercial and hospitality areas. The stadium is host to 13 bars and there are many food shops along the Premium LevelThe South Stand has an area of 1,500 m2 for conferences and meetings.Outside the stadium, there is a full-size all-weather training pitch which can be viewed from inside the South Stand and there is sufficient seating for training matches and club games. Surrounding the stadium there are large paved and tared areas. Pairc Ui Chaoimh was the headline winner of the “ICE Project of the Year Award” 2018, as voted for by the general public and industry participants alike and is something the site team is very proud of.

Edenderry Biomass Upgrade

The project consisted of the construction of a number of concrete / steel structures as noted below.• Biomass underground intake bund - constructed from reinforced concrete and is typically 5m deep with an 8m deep pit at one end.• Screening building, - steel structure supported on a reinforced concrete slab. The floor plan is approx. 180 m2 and 8 – 10m high. The building was clad and roofed with a metal profiled cladding.• Sampling building, steel structure maintained on a reinforced concrete slab and supporting large conveyor gallery which transports biomass material back across to Edenderry Power. The floor plan is approx. 60 m2 and 12m high. The building clad and roofed with a metal profiled cladding.• Conveyor support bases, reinforced concrete bases area required to support a new conveyor to tie into existing plant.• Concrete yard, a reinforced concrete yard installed around the above structures to facilitate Heavy machinery.I was the main point of contact throughout the project and ensured construction was carried out within client specification whilst carrying out engineering and supervision duties.

The Carrington Power project is a power plant that uses combined cycle gas technology (CCGT) to produce 880MW’s of electricity using 2 gas Turbines. Sisk are responsible for all civil works including CFA piling, sheet piling, RC works and underground services. Main Responsibilities Included; • Set out and management of CFA piling works which increased from 1728 no. piles with a 39 week programme to 3061 piles which were completed within the same time frame.• Management of all pile testing on site including Compression, Tension, Dynamic and Integrity testing.• Set out and Management of Site wide Services Package which included co-ordinating works for 5 dayshift and 3 nightshift crews.• Surveying and compiling all SWS information to be utilised in weekly co-ordination meetings.• Set out and management of RC package which achieved all 10 project guaranteed dates whilst working to minimal tolerances particularly on the power train. • Set out management of the sheet piling packages including designing sheet pile position to suit on site conditions.• Surveying and issuing Civil Turnover Over (CTO) packages to handover area to the client• Management of all ground compaction on site to facilitate piling platforms & formation under concrete structures. • Compiling as-built drawings and documents discussed in weekly progress meetings.• SWS temporary works coordinator• Service Avoidance Co-ordinator. • First Aider
