Developing Environmental Test Lab for compliance and reliability testing.

Founding member of startup company dedicated to designing propulsion systems for light electric vehicles. Management team member responsible for building business infrastructure while focusing on the laboratory and test protocols. Key Accomplishments Include:• Setup laboratory and designed test equipment optimized for LEV propulsion systems within the first three months of operation.• Developed test protocols and automated data analysis which significantly reduced test acquisition, analysis, and report times.• Successfully directed team of test engineers and technicians to collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing in critical test functions. Promoted productive and innovative culture through teamwork.• Implemented and maintained business functions in HR, IT, Maintenance, and Security.• Setup and implemented QC protocols for assembly of E+ bikes. Maintained warranty return rate of less than 5%.• Developed software for uploading firmware into the motor, battery and controller on E+ propulsion system.• Designed multi-station conditioning equipment for NiMH and Li-Polymer batteries which increased the capacity and storage life of the products.• Drove development of proprietary communication protocol utilizing RS485 bus resulting in robust communication while lowering licensing and component costs.• Responsible for compliance to FCC and EU Electro-magnetic Interference standards.

Test Engineer responsible for hardware and software design of customized test solutions for new motor technology. Key Accomplishments Include:• Development of R&D test systems. Developed dynamometer system for test of brushless permanent magnet wheel motor. Designed data acquisition and custom control system featuring National Instruments hardware and Labview 7.1 software. • Developed Reliability Test System. Developed a multiple station dynamometer for concurrent long term testing of propulsion systems. System uses National Instruments DAQ system and custom control system. Designed Labview 7.1 software control and monitoring vi with remote monitoring features for remote display of ongoing test progress.• Lead Initiative for Production Test Systems. Developed automated final test fixtures for wheel motors manufacturing process. Designed Wavecrest Laboratories test environment using Labview 7.1. Developed test specifications for system acceptance. Designed data storage and automated reporting processes for manufacturing. Supported manufacturing build and testing issues.• Developed Standard Laboratory Processes. Initiated production test into product design process. Set production test documentation standards and numbering system. Initiated calibration system for lab instrumentation.
