Financial Management Expert with over 38 years of financial management and administration experience in corporate and donor funded programmes as well as project cycle management. Specific areas of experience being in:• Financial management strategies and budget formulation and planning, management of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities• Corporate and public sector financial accounting and reporting, forensic audits, tax and general corporate governance matters.• Establishing, developing and facilitating financial management systems.• Development and review of internal control systems, financial monitoring and financial reporting. • Financial management of EU/EDF and other donor funded projects and programmed at the SADC Secretariat.• Capacity building of NGOs and CSOs through training of staff in the implementation of financial management systems • Design and development of training course materials, and delivery of project staff training programmes on EDF financial, contractual and procurement procedures (works, supply, service, grant contracts) and programme estimates• Training of finance and project staff of NGOs and CSOs on budgeting, grants and donor funds management and reporting.• The setting up and management of financial management and sub-grant management systems including assessments of sub-grantees’ financial management capacity, financial monitoring of sub-grantees and sub-grantee financial and accounting verifications. • Design, development and delivery of training courses in corporate governance, accounting and internal control systems including training on the use of financial accounting packages.• Extensive knowledge and application experience of EDF Practical Guidelines (PRAG) to contract procedures and procedures for programme estimates, having provided Financial Management Support for a cumulative 18 years to five European Commission funded programmes under the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th EDF.
