Leonardo (Finmeccanica) – Change & Configuration Manager (Belgium) On international assignment to Belgium supporting NATO’s Cybersecurity Centre. Responsible for managing all change requests from inception to closure. Process owner and responsible for maintenance of the Configuration Management Database. Chairing several meetings and production/publication of minutes to all stakeholders. Editing and proof reading of monthly, quarterly and annual service delivery reports for submission to the NATO Communication and Information Agency.

As a mobilised Royal Naval commissioned officer reservist, responsible for providing the commander with key daily and ad hoc information briefs specifically on the security threat within Bahrain and the wider region in general. A particularly demanding and sensitive role, it involved the collation, analysis and interpretation of large volume wide ranging reports from multiple sources to provide and maintain an accurate situation assessment to inform highest level decision making. A critical requirement was building extensive and close relationships with multiple international and internal agencies. The ability to confidently and concisely brief very senior political and military persons was essential.

Directly responsible for the end to end planning, implementation and post delivery reporting of land and marine environmental monitoring projects on the major London Gateway deep water port construction project in the Thames Estuary, UK. Working independently for extended periods of time, the role required regular, extensive coordination and liaison with the client to ensure that deliverables met timeline, budgetary, legal and quality requirements. Successfully managing and directing concurrently deployed survey teams in the marine environment was vital as the deliverables ensured that the client was legally compliant. Critical to success was the ability to problem solve under tight deadlines, diplomatically manage client expectations and work extended periods on site under demanding physical conditions.

Within the UK MoD IT renewal programme. Responsible for managing the end to end lifecycle of all internal and client requested project changes during the programme implementation roll out phase to UK and international MoD sites. Production and presentation of costed proposals to the client based on their requirements including solution design, validation and highlighting all potential project impacts. After client authorisation, ensured that each project change within the programme was initiated, tracked to completion and revenue realised after client acceptance. Working specifically on the MoD IT renewal project, responsible for scoping the impact of client generated changes to the programme. Required close liaison with staff at all levels within the organisation from the MD down to installation teams. Directly involved in the development of a Programme wide rate card requiring close inter-partner collaboration and subsequent negotiation with the client. Responsible for the development, implementation and regular review of change processes within the organisation.

Responsible for managing and leading the Army UNICOM IT system Change Team in charge of evaluating, authorising and implementing user generated RFCs to the British Army’s globally deployed IT system against defined criteria on all sites. Providing an active support role in coordinating IT Migration pre and post cutover activities. Lead facilitator in coordinating the JPA (Army) Contingency roll out programme.

The subject matter expert responsible for operational IT, financial and administrative systems for a unit of 650+ personnel. System Manager and site lead for all onsite IT system matters. Notably facilitated the site’s successful migration to a new IT system without loss of service. Financial auditor for public and non-public funds including budgetary control of the unit’s financial allocation. Line manager directly responsible for the career management of 25 military and civilian personnel.
