June 2008 – August 2020: Senior Developer• I was the key personnel in developing a business intelligence system. Operational data was extracted using Pentaho ETL from a MySQL application database. OLAP cubes where used to run head office reports.• Was part of a team that developed a large suite of ETLs that used a CDC mechanism to extract the latest data from various data sources, the data was cleaned and enhanced for granularity for the target system. The ETL was continually improved and made more efficient.• Provided full user support for the reporting system that was deployed across four production sites. • Skilled at writing complex efficient SQL queries based on understanding of the schema design.• Working successfully with a team of developers, QA's and BA's developing and supporting a web based spectacle lens ordering and manufacturing system. Handling tens of thousands of orders a day. This was an agile/SCRUM project with two week iterative development cycles. • Packaged, prepared and deployed software into multi-site production environments.• Completed root cause analysis on major production outages and enabled the best resolution of issues. • Successfully managed offshore Application Support Analysts after software rollout.• Was trusted to mentor and develop a junior developer on the processes of a project that eventually led to them contributing to the project.• Demonstrated the ability to work with all users within the company, from business users, other departments and management.• Contributed and led project standups and iteration reviews.

• I was involved in several migration projects of transactional and product data, two of which were part of the implementation of the new store based system and head office data mastering system. • Both projects required detailed risk analysis into the impact of porting the legacy data to the new systems. • Working successfully with QA, the work required a significant amount of data cleaning. • This project was achieved by grouping the related data into logical distinct stages and implemented by BASH scripting, progress and MySQL.

• I developed and supported product data mastering Progress 4gl systems for head office. • The development was completed in the traditional waterfall method and I was involved in the full life cycle of the project. • I was the key personnel for the head office systems source control, deployment and implementation to the production environment. This involved close collaboration with head office technical services, account managers and users. • I was responsible for upgrading systems to latest Progress version. • I was also involved in system support, in identifying and resolving critical code and data issues that required bug fixes.
